The Hicks Family Business

Welcome to CarScope,

The strength of CarScope has always been its people.  All auto repair shops fix cars and many do a great, honest job at it.  Though what sets us apart from many is that our first priority is to care for people, not cars.   We care about you, and that's why we do things the way we do.

The Team...

Byron Haley is the Office Manager.   His is usually the first voice you'll hear when you call.  He is your main contact person that handles the schedule and talks to you about your car's needs.   Byron was trained and worked as a technician before moving into management so he can handle any questions you have.

Byron enjoys leading youth worship; in fact he joined the CarScope team after looking for a job where he could get weekends off.  We are thankful to have him with us.  He left a lucrative and promising management position at a national chain so he could get more involved at his church because he knows that "money isn't everything".    So naturally he shares the same "people first" priorities as the rest of the CarScope staff.

Dyrell Hicks is the CarScope founder, lead technician and training manager.

ASE Certified Master Technician
ASE Advanced Engine Performance Certified

I have always tried to do the best job and give the best service I can and have always encouraged my family to do the same.  Our business has always been a part of our family and even our spiritual lives.   Though I've made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot of lessons the hard way,  among other goals, I was hoping our family business would teach our children responsibility.  Though at times it has been difficult training them, they have not disappointed me!  I am so very pleased with what God has produced in my children and in our business.

In fact, I'd like to publicly thank God for giving me the most wonderful family a man can ask for.  God has blessed me with Godly, wonderful, dedicated, respectful children; a beautiful, loving wife and He has graced me with being able to work with them and see them daily.  I do not deserve it, and I thank God they have imitated their heavenly Father more than me.

More of the 20 year history and previous names of CarScope

Stephen Hicks is a technician and shop manager.  He started learning and helping in the shop at around 13 years of age.  As well as working as a technician, Stephen is responsible for overseeing inventory and shop maintenance.  He is also the shuttle driver if you need a ride.  Stephen is an avid volleyball player, always ready for an impromptu game.

John and Matthew Hicks are in high school but have begun their part time apprenticeship in the shop and office.  They both enjoy soccer and baseball.   Matthew loves playing the piano and is very good at it.   John is a gifted and creative writer.   They are both always up for an airsoft match.

Kimberly Hicks  was the office manager and is now a part time service writer and helps with the books.  She is taking some courses at TCC and will most likely attend Elim Bible Institute in western New York in the fall of 2011.

Kimberly started helping in the office when she was 11 years old, so even as a recent graduate she has years of experience.   Kimberly is very creative, loves to bake and is a beautiful and graceful ballerina, having studied for years at Academe' de Ballet.

Joyce Hicks has always done the book keeping for the business along with home schooling the children.   The hard working and honest staff of CarScope (our kids) are a wonderful testimony to the grace of God and Joyce's faithfulness and patience over the years.

Joyce and Dyrell have enjoyed co-ed softball together for years.

Bob Hicks worked in the office for years after he retired from civil service over 10 years ago.  He still comes around and helps from time to time.   Dad has "never met a stranger" and it is always a joy when he comes around.   We can honestly say in more ways than one, we wouldn't be here without him.
